Reckinger Lab Website

In the Summer of 2015, Mateus Carvalho Guimaraes and I worked on visualizing overflows in a realistic domain using MPAS-Ocean.  He also helped analyze all the WEPAN survey data, writing code to sort through the participants' free responses.  Towards the end of the summer, Mateus sorted through our lab and numerical data from Summer 2014 to clean up and categorize our results.  He also programmed new metrics for this work.  

Shanon Reckinger presented a resolution study of using the MITgcm to mimic lab overflow.  

Bethany Brinkman, Mara London, Raenita Fenner, and Shanon Reckinger ran a workshop at WEPAN 2015 on the perceptions of engineering.  They presented results from a survey they conducted prior to the workshop but also facilitated discussion on the participants perceptions, as well as how they interpreted the survey results.  

Thomas Gibson, Fred Hohman, and Theresa Morrison presented their work on comparing experimental and numerical idealized overflow at the Joint Mathematics Meeting in San Antonio.  They won first place in the computational division in the Student Poster Session, which had over 270 posters.  

Dr. Reckinger and research students attended APS-DFD in San Francisco.  Dr. Reckinger presented her work with MPAS-O, as well as her work with developing a freshmen course in MATLAB programming in the Fluids Education and Outreach session.  Yenny Rua presented her work with Amia Fish Feeding Efficiency in the poster session.  Thomas Gibson, Fred Hohman, and Theresa Morrison gave a talk on their work with experimental and numerical comparisons of idealized overflows.
